In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Unusually strong staff — Guests consistently describe friendly, attentive service, from carrying bags to helping with taxi fares and walking directions. Staff is the hotel's highest-rated category at 9.8.
  • A location made for sightseeing — Reviewers note that the Colosseum is walkable, and one guest describes getting walking directions to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. A bus stop sits outside the hotel, and nearby restaurants get repeated praise.
  • Terrace access and roof views — Superior and Deluxe Terrace rooms give direct outdoor space, and guests mention a shared terrace with city rooftop views. One room even had a view of the Colosseum from the window.
  • Breakfast earns its own fans — The hotel's Dining score is 8.9, and guests single out breakfast specifically. Breakfast is served on site, with in-room breakfast available.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Comfort is the soft spot — The Comfort rating sits at 6.8, noticeably lower than the hotel's other scores. It's the one clear weak point in an otherwise strong rating profile.
  • Entry-level rooms are small — The base room is named Small Classic Double or Twin Room, which signals a compact layout. If space matters, a Superior or Deluxe room is the safer pick.
  • Check-in window ends at 23:59 — The official check-in time runs from 15:00 to 23:59. The hotel has 24-hour reception, but late arrivals should confirm in advance.
  • Not the cheapest option — One guest notes it is not the cheapest place to stay, and the 8.2 Value score sits below the other categories. The same review adds that it still offers value for money.

“Not the cheapest option, but it does offer value for money. A sweet, quaint little hotel that works well for a two-night Rome stay; rooms were a decent size and well kept, and the staff were very informative. WiFi and a patio were a bonus. The location is amazing, in a great area close to restaurants, transport and local activities, including the Grifo.”

8.8Verified guest

“The owner welcomed us on arrival and was incredibly helpful: he told us the right taxi price from Stazione Termini (we had been overcharged coming in, so he made sure we paid the correct fare on the way out), advised on currency exchange and banks, and gave walking directions to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Breakfast worked well for us, and there was a small bar for a drink before dinner.”

“Breakfast is worth a mention.”
